Today's blog post is a really important one, so please don't tune out now. In December of last year, my friend Ashley, from CenterCutCook, found out that she was expecting her first baby after many years of trying. Just one week later, she found out that her husband Ryan, only 29 years old, had Stage 4 Colon Cancer.
Over the past eight months Ashley has experienced her first pregnancy and the birth of their little boy, Miles. Along with that, she and Ryan have been through multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and everything else that comes with cancer. Through it all, they’ve fought to stay positive while aggressively treating the cancer. The reality is that Ryan’s cancer is stage 4. It has spread to other areas of his body, and while the chemo is helping, there is still much uncertainty in their lives.
Ashley is an amazing food blogger and she’s also one of the nicest, most generous, and helpful bloggers I know. As bloggers, we earn our income through advertising on our websites and through sponsored work. Unfortunately, taking time off for maternity leave, spending time at the hospital for cancer treatments, or days spent away from the blog while caring for your loved ones, will affect your site's traffic, which in turn affects your income.
